Originaire de Cognac, Selor décore les murs qu’il rencontre depuis maintenant presque 10 ans. Il a fait évoluer sa technique au gré de ses rencontres et de ses pérégrinations et s’exerce aujourd’hui dans des styles comme la peinture rupestre contemporaine ou encore l’acrylique. Entre 2012 et 2013, il concilie sa passion du voyage et celle du street art en peignant des éphémères dans les rues et terrains vagues de villes comme Londres, Dublin, Séville, Lisbonne, Paris… Bordeaux.
Ses œuvres, compostions très colorées, mêlent coulures, animaux imaginaires aux traits naïfs et enfantins et sont parfois accompagnées d’une petite légende ironique. C’est à travers ces quelques mots que percent plus visiblement les convictions de Selor, pour qui l’aspect social de l’art urbain semble être fondamental
J’ai accepté le projet parce que j’y ai vu l’occasion de peindre un gros mur à cognac.
Je n’aime pas ma fresque car techniquement je ferai beaucoup mieux maintenant, elle ne représente plus mon travail actuel, je la repeins quand vous voulez…
J’ai grandit à cognac ! et je suis parti car ce n’est pas assez attrayant culturellement, ça a ses avantages malgré tout ! Mes peintures de rue ne sont pas effacées !
Selor is an artist from Cognac, France. He has been decorating walls for 10 years. His technique has evoluted thanks to his trips and encounters with other artists, and he is now doing modern country painting and acrylic painting. Between 2012 and 2013 he combined his passion for travelling with his passion for street art by painting short –lived street art in London, Dublin, Seville, Lisbon, Paris, Bordeaux. His work is colourful with driping paint, imaginary animals with childish looks sometimes completed with an ironical comments showing his strong convictions on the social aspect of urban art.
I accepted to do this project to paint a large wall in Cognac. I don’t like my work because technically I would do it differently now. It has nothing in common with my work today and I’ll do it again when you want me to…
I grew up in Cognac ! I left because it’s not the best cultural place on earth. But I can see the profit for my work is still on the wall !
